It all started when British resident Kayleigh Gray couldn’t find accessories for her dog Aila that reflected her style, so she started designing her own pet products.
\n“My dog products are suitable for all breeds and sizes. I want my designs to fit a Chihuahua as well as a Rottweiler because my motto is: For big, for small, for all”, explains Kayleigh Gray, founder and owner of the online pet shop Tail Tropic.<\/a><\/p>\n

The simpatico Brit, who has been living in Mallorca for seven years, founded her original company a year and a half ago. “It all started because I was looking for accessories for my dog Aila, a Border Collie. I couldn’t find anything that I liked, or that suited the Mediterranean style of the island. Also, Aila has always had a lot of energy and was constantly pulling on the lead, so I looked for a no-pull harness that would not only prevent this but also fit her body perfectly without hurting her. But I couldn’t find anything on the market”.
\nFaced with this situation, the entrepreneur decided: “I started to draw and design my accessories and launched my brand of products for dogs. I designed our harnesses, which free the scapulae so as not to limit their mobility, but which, thanks to their shape, help to prevent them from pulling”.<\/p>\n

The brand Tail Tropic offers everything you need to walk your furry friends<\/strong>, for example, on one of the dog-friendly beaches in Mallorca<\/a>: harnesses (also in neoprene, for the beach), collars, leads, and poo bags, all in designs and colours that reflect the brand’s ‘Boho Island Style’. With a nod to the more fashion-conscious, it even offers matching dog bandanas and scrunchies for their owners.
\nIn keeping with their motto, all accessories are available in different sizes, from XS\u2014for a Chihuahua, for example\u2014to XL for dogs the size of a Bulldog or golden retriever. The practical size guide<\/a> lists multiple dog breeds and their corresponding sizes.<\/p>\n

One of the most popular products is natural meat or fish treats. “They are 100% healthy, natural, grain-free and locally produced,” Kayleigh explains. “It’s not easy to find treats for our dogs<\/strong> that are grain-free and totally healthy. On our website, we have them: dehydrated chicken breast, tuna bites, beef ear, fish fillets, and many more”. Some of the snacks are also suitable for cats.<\/p>\n

Collaboration with other local SMEs<\/h2>\n

Kayleigh is firmly committed to local partnerships. The snacks are produced by a partner on the Spanish mainland, and the fish comes from certified sustainable fisheries. She collaborates with a local ceramist to produce ceramic bowls for pets and mugs for their humans\u2014fun gifts with different inscriptions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Supporting a charity with every purchase<\/h2>\n

Just like Dylsi, Kayleigh is firmly committed to various NGO<\/a>s. “From day one, we have supported animal welfare charities. We currently support ten different organisations in Mallorca, on the Spanish mainland, and Thailand through sales on our website.” So, every time you shop at Tail Tropic, you are supporting a good cause.
